The First International workshop on Autonomic Communication will have as
its main theme Autonomic Communication Principles; the objective is to
explore synergies between related research initiatives and recent
achievements within many disciplines in an attempt to highlight insights
from self-organisation, bio-inspired, non-Turing computing/communication
paradigms, advances in control theory, complex systems research,
non-linearity, etc. helping to enable the design creativity that will
fuel the next round of the Internet evolution. A call for proposals on
Situated and Autonomic Communications is planned under the 4th IST call
of the IST research programme, currently foreseen to be launched in
November 2004.
